Minyoung Shin is an associate at Fish & Tsang LLP where her responsibilities include working closely with senior associates and partners on patent prosecutions across various technology industries. Minyoung also provides valuable support for IP litigation and transactions including legal research and the drafting of agreements.
Minyoung’s well-rounded educational and professional background serves clients well in her role on the Fish & Tsang team. Her vast experience in neuroscience provides her with unique insight into the IP challenges faced by medical practitioners. She works efficiently and provides clients with strategic solutions to their IP issues.
Education and Professional Experience
Minyoung earned her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Seoul National University in South Korea, a Ph.D in neuroscience form Northwestern University in Chicago, and her juris doctor from University of California, Irvine. Prior to law school, she was a research associate at Salk Institute and Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Minyoung holds memberships with Orange County Asian American Bar Association, Korean American Bar Association, Korean-American Engineers-Scientists Association, and Society for Neuroscience. She is also admitted to represent clients before the USPTO.
In her free time, Minyoung enjoys the outdoors. She takes pleasure in traveling, trail-trekking, skiing and is an avid baseball fan. As a native of South Korea, Minyoung is fluent in Korean.
