Ryan Dean specializes in global patent and trademark prosecution, and focuses primarily in the areas of mechanical devices, process engineering, aeronautics, household products, medical devices, computer software and fluid conditioning systems. He also has substantial experience with licensing and enforcement of both patents and trademarks, including litigating and defending against infringement lawsuits. With nearly seven years of experience spanning all areas of intellectual property law, Ryan manages portfolio development for domestic and international clients, leveraging unique aspects of each country's laws to achieve clients' business goals. In his practice, he has led global enforcement efforts in the U.S., Europe, Japan and China.
At Fish & Tsang, Ryan works with companies of all sizes – from small businesses to Fortune 500 institutions. Ryan's vast experience yields outside-the-box thinking and delivery of strategic portfolio recommendations – on a global level.
Education and Professional Experience
Ryan received his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and holds an undergraduate degree in aerospace engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Since 2013, he has served as co-chair of the Orange County Bar Association's IP and Technology Section and also serves on the Public Resource Committee of the International Trademark Association. In addition, Ryan is involved with the UCLA Alumni Chapter of Orange County.
Outside of the office, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, and traveling the world.
