Kurt Brillhart, Ph.D.
Dr. Kurt Brillhart is an experienced patent agent. He works directly with clients to identify the central concept of their inventions and how it compares to current products already on the market. Kurt offers clients insightful IP evaluations – helping them expand upon an original invention to form a basis for patent application and prosecution. His experience allows him to evaluate the patent landscape and conduct freedom-to-operate studies to ensure the patent process moves forward smoothly. Kurt primarily represents inventors in the biomedical, biotechnology, biochemistry and molecular biology fields.
Kurt is highly motivated and detail-oriented – qualities instrumental in ensuring the successful evaluation and completion of a client’s patent. His ability to relate professionally to clients on a technical level increases his ability to connect and communicate effectively, putting their mind at ease during the often complex patent process.
Kurt received his Ph.D. in biological sciences and a bachelor’s degree in biology from University of California, Irvine. Prior to Fish IP Law, Kurt was a research and development scientist, where he worked with a wide variety of technologies in the fields of biotechnology and biomedical devices.
In his free time, Kurt enjoys cooking, particularly traditional barbeque. He also is a movie buff, and owns a large collection of bad films.
